This week on 52 ways to do porridge The Kilted Coaches bring you the MA smoothie – it’s so good that you can drink it as your breakfast or as a mid-afternoon snack. The morning and afternoon smoothie is easy to make and gives you a nutritious and delicious drink that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. To make the Morning and Afternoon smoothie you will need;

  • A blender
  • Oats
  • Strawberries
  • Spinach
  • Chia and Flaxseed
  • A liquid of your choice (we went with coo’s milk)
  • Protein powder of your choice (we used strawberry flavour)

There we are let’s get stuck in

Right so first of all we’ve got a blender we need some sort of liquid now you can use any sort of liquid you want we’re going to use normal milk but you can use coconut milk, you can use oat milk, you can use almond milk, you can use water, you could use fruit juice if you really wanted to.

Yeah, yeah. You pour that milk.

It’s a glass of milk at the moment.

Spinach.

Now don’t be spy with the spinach it looks like a lot but thats going to blend down to nothing. Now you need something heavy to push that down.

Strawberries.

Drop them in

Now we need our oats in there as it is a porridge video

Let’s get some good carbs in there

Chia and flaxseed now really we’ve got this just to get some extra fats in there because there’s going to be a lot of carbs and we kind of want to slow dow the release of the sugars so we’re going to add in some fats and no better way to do it than chia and flaxseed.

Let’s get it in there.

and then just to top it off we always like to have a good balanced nutritious meal so get some protein in there we’re just going to add a scoop of protein

It just so happens that it’s strawberry flavoured

It’s like a green monster, good for having in the morning or  the afternoon. It’s the morning and afternoon smoothie the MA smoothie.
